Pork Rib

Post by DIRTYDAVE » Fri Sep 09, 2005 3:23 pm

I have to admit to you all, and kman this will shock you. I actually bit the bullet and tried the Pork Rib MRE! Damn, it was pretty friggin' good! I will from this day forward will no longer trash the pork MREs! Of course, it did not really taste like pork to me. It is kind of like Arby's roast processed beef tastes versus "real" roast beef...totally different. I have actually had "real" pork before and this tastes nothing like "real" pork. Thank God for additives and preservatives....

Now, I have to grow some hair on my chest and try the Jambalaya MRE. Can anyone compare that to something taste wise? Oh and the beef terriyaki, I have been holding off on that one as well. Any comments?

Alright DirtyDave - I'm impressed! See...I told there was no actually real meat in any of those MRE entrees. :-)

For the Jambalaya, if you go to the grocery store, they have these almost-ready-to-eat pouches of rice - you just microwave them. There's one kind called Jambalaya that's not too bad. Just throw in some bits of ham and the tiniest shrimp you've ever seen and you'll have MRE Jambalaya.

You can try it "raw" or do like I did and throw in some of the cheese spread and all the tobasco to make it a little better.

This is the Mcdonald's McRib look-a-like right? Comes with 2 pieces of wheat snack bread, cheese spread and cheese-filled pretzels? I LOVE the pork rib...I love most of the MREs, with exception for a few foods that should never be made 'ready to eat' like the enchiladas (tasted very chemical-ish).

If it's like McRib I will probably like it, whether it tastes like pork or not. :)

It is highly recommended by DIRTYDAVE... :D Although I suggest putting it on top of one piece of the wheat snack bread. I tried the beef patty beteen two pieces of snack bread and all I could taste was the bread and not the meat. Two pieces of that snack bread is very over powering, for me atleast. The snack bread is like gold to me...that and that cheese spread...YUMMMY! Lip smaking good! I always take those two snack bread MREs and use one and save the other one for when I get a cheese spread that comes with crackers. I love the crackers with the peanut butter and jelly and the cheese with the bread.
