Food poisoning, allergy, or bad interaction with beer?

so I had my first U.S. MRE last night. Chicken burrito bowl menu 23 packed 11/09/17. My cases look nearly pristine and so did all packaging for the MRE. Nothing looked or tasted off except the cheese spread. I'd never had it and hear it's funky tasting as is. It had no real flavor and left a slightly earthy, acrid aftertaste so after 2 bites I skipped the rest and decided I just must not like it. The rice, spicy cheeze-its and cinnamon pastry all tasted great. I felt really hot and my hands looked flushed soon after eating, but it passed and I assumed my civilian stomach just didn't like the food, or maybe the calorie dense meal made my insulin spike or something.
As I was leaving to get my beer, I had a metallic taste in my mouth and my upper lip went numb, but that passed as well. In the morning I had a mild headache I assumed was from too much beer, but I felt hot and broke out in to a sickly sweat and was bathroom sick for a couple of hours. I shouldn't have been severely hung over or hung over at all really. It was very intense, but didn't last long like a hangover would. When I began to feel better it was strangely sudden, not like a hangover at all.
I'm going to try another ration tomorrow or the next day, and be sure to abstain from any beer. Is there a way to differentiate between allergy and food poisoning given that the symptoms are similar? Was that how the cheese spread is supposed to taste?
