Items you wish were mre but never have and or never will be one

Post by Spike1678 » Sat Oct 27, 2018 3:32 pm

Anyone have something they wish was an mre or in a mre that either they will never do or just can’t do because it currently isn’t possible

Mine a grilled Cheese like a legit one not just snack bread and Cheese spread

Also I would like to see them try hot dogs again

Cole slaw or a good hearty salad. Or grilled veggies.
Instant ice Or a chilling device! Could you imagine a cold beer after a hike w no extra weight from ice?

Real cheese... No chese spread, or that canned cheese, real honest cheese
And the same for sausages... every time i see sausages in a ration, they are pretty much sausage shaped pieces of pate... Real meat, and casing, something you could bite

And it could be probably a completely useless thing, but many people never use the pepper and the hot sauces and some people love to add spices to their food... so the same way that there are higiene packs there could be a army issued spice pack you could ask for if you likes spice on your food, with small canisters of spices... It probably wouldnt weigt more than 100gr and would be good for morale..

It isn't really suitable for MRE's, but I did come across this retort pouch sashimi recently. They come in sets of 3, with vitamins added for about $10: tuna with vitamin C, salmon with b6, and shrimp with b12. It looks like they need to be frozen even in the special packaging though.

Meat other than beef or chicken. Lamb, duck, goat, ostrich, turkey, fish, eel, sardines...SOMETHING else. And genuine vegetables as a heatable side.

And a Mylar-lined insulated bag to hold pouches and heater while heating up.
Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
