I met up with a fellow MRE Info member byt he name of viperbob. He posted up a few weeks ago and introduced himself to this wonderful community. In his posted he mentioned that he wanted to trade for a case of MCis. I was so exicted to find out that he was local ( well somewhat local). My brother and I hopped in my car and drove down to meet with Bob and trade!

Once my brother and I arrive we were greeted by Bob and we were treated to this:

An sealed and unopened piece of history:

My brother isn't a big ration guy. He watched steve and takes/eats all of the rations that I give him though. Keeping that in mind he was also in awe at the fact that this was like opening a time capsule.

Bob was a genuinely nice guy and extremely friendly. Definitely a great person to get to know and trade rations with. I traded some really fresh rations for him to enjoy eating and I hope he does enjoy them :D

Just wanted to share my experience with you all!

Bob is a Veteran of the US Navy so BIIIIIIIIIIG thanks to him for serving our country! It was a pleasure and honor to meet you, Bob!

Those MCI's look to be in excellent condition! Usually half are leaking off the bat and the outside box reflects that.

What a true time capsule. And a cool experience to meet another member and then tear into a case of treasure like that. I hope you guys cherish and enjoy those MCIs if you happen to indulge. Save me some pineapple jam! 8)

Thanks guys!

Bob had this pack for over 50 years! After he got married one of his Army buddies gave this case to him and it was sealed in his possession until that day. Truly a fun day for us to open it up.

I opened up the individual meals and most of the mains were toast. The cans were rotted away. Other things like the canned pears were goners too. But I expected that to happen to that stuff. The accessory packs, spoons, and B units were in good shape though so that's a plus!

Love the way all the boxes are different shades.
