B-1 Unit 1965

Hey everyone,
Hope you all are having a good day. It's been a while since I last posted. Busy with work and all. Had to watch my ration spending as I went a little crazy.
Buying Rations can be addicting. Anyway, lets jump right into this post shall we?
I've had a 1965 B-1 Unit sitting on my desk as display purposes and it's time to break out the ol' P-38 and open this 52 year old ration treasure.
The can itself was in excellent condition. No dents with very minor scratches to the classic olive green paint, as well as no bulging from gasses inside. Upon piercing the top, a nice quiet hiss could be heard. To my relief, no foul smells came out. The only smell was of old stale chocolate, which I assumed was from a chocolate disk. I was right. Carefully lifting the lid open, a vanilla cream chocolate disk was sitting on top followed by 7 salted crackers and a wonderful shiny tin of peanut butter. Always a nice to open an old ration to find the contents unsoiled. I'll put off trying the crackers for now just because the smell of the vanilla cream disk has infused them. The peanut butter I'll leave for display.
