Question about finding MREs, not online

So I don't know if this should be put here or not but I am going to give it a shot.

I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and I was wondering if anyone around this area knew where to go looking for MREs. Want to see what I can find that isn't online and I can actually go look at the stuff.

Thank you.

Greetings...there are many offerings for MREs and related items. Ft Hood is a great option for you with related items. Barring that, there are many great providers on the site such as: BlackDogBob, Wats6831, Andrew78, etc...this is a GREAT group with offerings in all categories! Happy ration hunting!

The difficulty is that each and every US ration is marked "Not for Commercial Sale" and it is therefore against the law to do so. So you won't find them in stores (or at least stores that obey the law). It is technically legal to buy them from an individual who has acquired them legitimately. So you might find them occasionally on craigslist or similar.

You may be able to find somebody who can shop at a military base and is willing to get a few meals for you. But the authorities frown on anybody doing that on a regular basis. Your source could get in trouble if he did it a lot.

Morrac - Concur with Mr sourwes... many great options with fellow board members by PM's or via their eBay stores... Good luck!

All you need to do, is look close, downtown, near a U.S. base, and look around in local surplus stores(ARMY/NAVY). Ft. Sam, Wichita Falls Airbase, Ft. Sill. etc. Thats where you find the good stuff. Other than that, near Dallas, can't help you.

Yup army surplus or have a family member/friend in the military like myself. Downside of Surplus stores is they don't always keep track of dates so I've run across some really really old stock. And often times you'll find partial kits and the usual suspects of Universally hated MRE's over good ones. And this is just for US mre's. If you want to see the world one military meal at a time you will most certainly be looking for sellers like the people who post on here.

Also happy hunting.
