Food Packet Assault, Individual

Post by mreheater72 » Wed Feb 28, 2007 2:52 am

Hi guys,

two weeks ago I bought some entrees of a “Food Packet Assault, Individual” in German Ebay. According to the article description it is a US Korea Ration. Here are some pics:

The trade includes:

- One opened Accessory Packet made of board
- One can of Crackers and Cookies stamped 7 55 with can opener on the bottom
- Some entrees of the Accessory Packet (matches, cream, coffee, sugar, opened cigarettes, jelly bar)
- Two P38 original packed from 1950 an d 1951
- The lid of the ration board
- One mess kit from 1944 with spoon, fork and knife
- One can of louse powder (containing DDT!!!)
- Four US Army badges
- Three boxes GTA cards
- Three GTA molds
- Two US belt buckles made of brass

For all I paid about 15,50 EURO (without shipping) (about 20 US Dollars)!

Has anyone some further knowledge (photos, web links, ...) about this old US ration?

So long mreheater72

Nice photos. Even before seeing the dates at the end, I would have guessed 1950's vintage. That should be a nice addition to your collection.

You know, I've thought the same thing more than once. After seeing norge's latest photos, I need to move over by him. I could keep my evil black rifle and still have a shot at some of these great foreign rations.

Don't even get me started on the evil black rifles... you at least live on the less restrictive side of the 49th parallel. Right now we're fighting to keep them from doing the aussie thing and banning all semi-autos! They can have my Garand when they pry it out of my... well, you get the idea

The joys of living in Texas.. I even get to keep a gun under my seat w/o a permit. It's a glorious thing.
