So what's everyone's fav freeze dried foods? Been looking to check out the commercial stuff from mountain house and backpackers pantry so I'm looking for recommendations as well as the best place to buy. I really like the granola with blueberries in the hashbrown MRE.

Oregon Freeze Dried, the supplier you see in the MCW's and LRP's, is actually Mountain House. Personally, I've always found the MH to beat out both BP and Wise for FD foods. Wise seems kinda bland, and BP tries to have....well, unusual menus, but most of their stuff comes out too salty.
So far my fav is the MH Stroganoff. It's good...

MH is great, but have you ever had a Norwegian one? To me they are even.

I've never tried the Norwegian ones housil. Do they have the same amount of sodium as MH?

Another vote for MH. BP isn't that great in my opinion. As mentioned, too much sodium. My local Walmart has a small selection of MH in the camping isle. The biscuits and gravy is excellent (in my opinion) and just the right sized portion. Costs about $5. Excellent breakfast for when in the bush! Add boiling water, wait 10 minutes, have a cuppa while it hydrates. I have a few per year. Good stuff.

Another vote for MH...They have an "essentials" bucket for about $60 at my local Walmart that has a nice selection of meal items that's definitely worth a try...

MH is great. I like them better than alpineaire. If you are looking for larger individual packages valley on Amazon are suprisingly good. Although I don't remember salt level.
In my opinion both are superior to backpackers pantry. I will admit there are MH I don't like but they are overshadowed by the good. There are a lot out there that cater to different needs so try them all. It's a lot of fun.
