Hi all,

I was just reading around and figured I'd share this piece of info with all of you. This year, we can look forward to a burrito bowl menu along with some other new items. We were also once told that the pizza meal would be coming out this year, however reading this article, I can confirm that is likely not the case.

It mentions pizza won't be with us (or the troops, quite honestly) until 2018. I'm glad they're still working on it!

I'm going to miss the ratatouille, which I thought was one of the best veggie meals. I probably won't bother trying to get the pizza (if it ever appears) because I can get pizza. To a troop in Wherethehellistan, it might be appealing; to somebody who can hardly throw a rock without hitting a pizza joint, not so much.

1 definitely check out the video and 2 armytimes aka militarytimes aka marinetimes aka navytimes might as well be a tabloid at this point there's some info in there but a lot of it is someone getting a story out for clicks.

Initial forecasts called for a 2018 launch of the pizza MREs, which were to come in both pepperoni and cheese varieties.
Whitsitt declined to provide a new timeline. He said Natick has internal goals, but that he was hesitant to commit at this time.

Bummer. Oh well, it's still something to look forward to.

Hasent pizza been a pipe dream for a while now in the MREs? Maybe I'm getting old and since I'm a mover the customers always get us pizza for lunch. Its one of the reasons I started carrying MREs with me 2 to 3 times a week and I start to tire of having it. I can see the appeal for the young military guys who want a piece of home while in the field though.

Doesn't matter, even if it's in the pipeline, won't show up in cases till late 2017-early 2018 anyway. How long did we Americans wait for s-stable samichs? and look what we got. OK, not complaining. Only avail. in FSR's and they suck.

Wouldn't be THAT terribly difficult for Bridgford to make a pizza style sandwich... Granted it wouldn't be all that good, or would it?
