Hello,
could anybody here tell me what the "Beef Strip" in menu 8 (2003) is and why it's not it the pack I've open today?
It's on the site menu table but obviously not in my N°8 bag
Did I miss anything great?
Anyway I'm going to complain to the US Government

Yes, the Beef Patty is there but the list on this site also indicates "Beef Strip" in #8 pack:
MENU 8
Beef Patty
Nacho Cheese Pretzels
Beef Strip
Cheese Spread
Wheat Snack Bread (2)
BBQ Sauce
Beverage Base, Powdered
Hot Sauce
Accessory Packet, C
Spoon
Flameless Heater
BTW, the idea of a "cheeseburger kit" is really funny

You're not missing much, Stef. If I recall correctly, that MRE seemed to be too beef-heavy - like Beef Patty, Beef Strip, Beef Beverage Base, Beef Pound cake, etc. Ok...maybe not that much beef

... but how about a decent side item instead of a hunk of dessicated meat?

OK, maybe you're right; that's too much beef for one single ration.
(do the "Beefeaters" in London Tower have #8 MRE's instead of British meals?

)
Well, seriously, they could try to put some instant French fries in this pack, it'll be perfect with the cheeseburger

The beef jerky was a slim jim in the beef patty menus I had, it was better beef than the patty itself. Those burgers do not have much structural integrity though. Very impressed with the beef pot roast.
Its the same story with beef jerky over here in England, when you do find it, its about £2 for a very small pack. Don't know what makes it so expensive...

Packet labeled "Bulls". Nothing further written on clear plastic pack, with 2 small strips of beef jerky, placed in another tan foil pack. I ate one about a week ago at work. Nothing special, typical American beef jerky.

Thanks for the info.
In fact you can find jerky in France : in Paris Vietnamese area they have something very similar called
thit bo kho , it's jerky in fact but the seasoning is rather Vietnamese than American.
It's about 5 bucks (...2.5 quids

) for a 4oz pack.
