I know what you mean. I never saw anything except an MRE for the 5 years I was in. We even went to Adak, Alaska and....here's your MRE. Thanks, it's frozen. HAHA

These were deigned for soldiers operating in the extreme's - like mountains of Afghanistan, etc.. I knew a guy that tested these and he was Navy. Initially I thought these were supposed to be a SOF type ration enhancement. But it seems like they are a service wide thing now. So any unit supply should be able to order them if they are available to that SSA (Supply Support Activity).

Just hit up the class I yard (at your local LSA) with your S4 or your unit 92Y where ever you end up ask them, they always have more goodies than meets the eye!

I have a couple of the Hot Weather M.O.R.E. packs. Basically, it is like the acronym implies and what others have said. Its a supplement pack.

I think this is compelling evidence why most people in the service have never seen a MORE ration. It's all about unit budgets and cost. You can tell by the prices from DLA. Attached is a link to the DLA Rations Book and all the pricing for every ration the US makes is on page 53. Keep in mind prices are per case or module not individual stuff.
