Ok, I need some help. How are all of you shipping your MRE's w/ the heaters? Can you tell me what company you use and if you have to fill out any paperwork or write anything on the box. Thanks for the help!!!

I've seen MREs sent just about any way you can imagine. Because of the heaters and/or matches, you're supposed to only ship them via ground. I've used UPS and FedEx Ground in the past. Personally, I like FedEx Ground best because #1 it's usually cheaper and #2 the packages don't take as much abuse as they do with UPS.

I've also seen MREs sent via US Mail Priority and even at the "book/media" rate but I wouldn't advise you do that because you'd be violating postal regulations and would be risking having your packages delayed/rejected/confiscated.

I don't think you have to do anything special. Personally, I prefer sending/receiving them when they're wrapped in brown paper or something like that but I've recevied plenty of cases with just a label slapped onto the box.

You have to send all MREs to me first for eating, er I mean inspection, then I will pass them on to their rightful owner...

Some words of warning - if you can avoid it do not use UPS to ship anything to canada or anywhere else abroad. They will charge you an arm, leg, and any other spare limb as a "brokerage charge" - 10 times what USPS charges. In fact i think someone in BC is trying to start a class action lawsuit against UPS, claiming the fees are unreasonable and are charged directly to the reciever on arrival with no advance warning.

I know our company regularly gets dinged more for brokerage from UPS than the entire cost of duties and taxes, sometimes more than the shipping cost too!

Hi, I live in Europe. Sending goods around the world is becoming more and more expensive. The last ten years prices almost have doubled, but my monthly salary hasn't.
It has come so worse that I refuse deliveries made by UPS and Fedex. These companies manage to declare ALL packages to the Dutch Customs. Anything worth more than 22 dollar (including postage!!) results in a 19% extra import tax. Items send by US Postal Mail are somehow always tax free. (I don't know why, but they frequently have been stamped 'tax free' by Dutch Customs.)

Completely off-topic, but I love the diary shakes from the MRE's, especially the ones with strawberry flavor.

Greetings from Holland!
