Mre case B

I got my first case of Mre's arriving soon E bay auction so what can I expect from the menus is menu B good,bad,ugly taste wise?.I've had beef roast, chicken cavitelli and both were good entrees.

The B case is my favorite case usually. Besides the fact that it doesn't include the Country Captain Chicken, the B cases contain what I consider to be the staple of MREs....the Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce MRE. But here's a quick rundown of the usual contents:
Case B

13 - Cheese Tortellini - One of my favorite vegeterian MREs!
14 - Manicotti w/Vegetables - That giant manicotti lump kind of scares me
15 - Beef Enchiladas - an excellent MRE, too!
16 - Chicken w/Noodles - average
17 - Sloppy Joe Filling - haven't tried this one yet
18 - Cajun Rice & Sausage - pretty good!
19 - Roast Beef w/Vegetables - very good!
20 - Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce - one of the best MREs!
21 - Chicken Tetrazzini - average
22 - Jambalaya - ok if you like Jambalaya - I wasn't a big fan of the shrimp
23 - Chicken w/Cavetelli - another one of my personal favorites - nothing too special here, just chicken, shell pasta, and tomato sauce.
24 - Meatloaf w/Gravy - another one of my personal favorites - love that meatloaf!

Thanks Kman i'll be keeping the ones I like and giving the ones I won't touch to friends.

I gotta agree with you Kman, the B Case is the preferred case in my preparedness pantry, although I believe there are a couple of A cases that have snuck in over the years.
Don't knock the CCC, it's great when your neighbors who didn't prepare come mooching "spare food". Give them the triple C meal and I guarantee they won't come back asking for more.
The manicotti is a tasty meal and I tend to hog the vegatarian meals for myself...give it a try!

I've tried the CCC this week
What do they keep on putting a piece of sponge in the bottom of the tomato sauce pouch?
I can't see what it's for, a moisture absorber, a bacteria killer?
... not something edible anyway

I wasn't really sure about my own guess. Also because I never saw one in any other rations. But now I now why the sponge is there. Thanks.

With the Arctic rations, you actually have to cook, not just heat up. the pot / mug gets dirty...
