HI,
I am a newbie to this forum and MRE stuff. I purchased a knock-off case of MRE's foo emregency preparedness- but I want to real MRE's sealed in the tan pouch with the heaters. I have looked all over the Web and can't find the geniune MRE's.
Does anyone know of a website (or store in Metro Washington DC, ) where I can order the real deal?
Thanks in advance...
Jim

You can try military surplus stores as some have the MREs from time to time, or eBay. Otherwise you can get the Wornick or Sopakco civilian MRE line on several websites.

Hi Jim - welcome to the forums!
Mirage is right - you can try the local Army/Navy Surplus stores but the prices will probably be pretty high. I usually see MREs for $8 each or $80/case at these stores.
For me, ebay has always been the best place to buy MREs. You should be able to find a case for $35-$45 plus shipping. Find an auction close to you and you can really cut down on shipping.
Here's an idea - you could always go to a local surplus store and buy one MRE to make sure you like them. Then if you do like them (of course you will!!), you can get a case from ebay.
Here's a web page that explains the ins-and-outs of buying MREs:

Join the the United States Army(or Marine Corps). You will enjoy all the Mre's and T-Rats you can stand. You can even go get a Whopper or an AAFES Burger if you are on the right base
