The Epicenter
The Epicenter
In the past I had purchased individual MRE components from the epicenter and would make my own packs. Went to their site this week and noticed that they don't seem to have as much product as in the past. For example, they didn't have the granola/blueberry cereal packs, oatmeal packs or any other breakfast entres. Anyone know of a reason for this. Also, I can't locate these breakfast items on the other sites

Re: The Epicenter
I talked to them on the phone a month or two back and they said that they just haven't been getting in new surplus items. That could mean that everything being produced is needed for another large scale gear-up, or that stocks are being replenished, or that things are dramatically winding down and production is slowed across the board. Hard to tell.
Re: The Epicenter
In the past right after Hurricane Katrina, there was been a massive demand in civilian MREs and their stocks had been full to the brim.
Re: The Epicenter
Might want to keeping checking the epicenter website. Sometimes they get odd stuff in, there are some other websites out there that get MRE items as well. The Epicenter can let you sign up for announcements when they get items in.

Re: The Epicenter
If tere are specific items you are wanting, email them and ask to be notified when they come back in stock. That is if you are willing to wait.

Longlifefood(Indiana)does not seem to be as good as they used to be, after they shut down for a year or so, then re-opened. I guess they get most of what they offer, from Ameriqual.

Re: The Epicenter
Dave, I'm with you on that. I have not been too impressed with LL Foods recently. I have noticed their assortment of items is, or can be, limited. Not to mentioned their prices have gone up a lot. I still keep them on my favorites list just in case I might be able to find something but with prices like that I'll go back to the Epicenter, where they have a better selection and pricing.Longlifefood(Indiana)does not seem to be as good as they used to be, after they shut down for a year or so, then re-opened. Yep, just checked them out. Even with free shipping in US, basically sucks. Epicenter sucks also, looked at them also. Best bet, if someone wants to try U.S. MRE's, local gunshow or get a case off Ebay from someone close to you. That never fails. depends on where somebody live, and how much somebody wants to pay for shipping, or gas $ to drive to the gunshow.

They ain't getting as much surplus anymore because everyone is buying up all the surplus when it's around now that this hobby has taken off..lolRuleryak wrote:I talked to them on the phone a month or two back and they said that they just haven't been getting in new surplus items.
