Has anybody on here tried these out recently ?
I was thinking about picking up some of them, but figured I would ask you folks first...

The Maple Muffin top is very nice...tender and quite moist. Good maple flavour...very sweet though...good with a cup of tea or coffee!

I bought two dozen of the filled french toast from theepicenter last year - loved em. They're a million times better warm. The syrup inside is more like a maple jam or spread, and the actual bread part doesn't taste a ton like real french toast, but I liked them just the same.

Thanks. They surely look, or sound, good. I suspected that the hot rock trick would work well with them.
How do they survive packing 'em around?

They're really dense, so far I haven't had one that was crumbled or broken when I opened it - they squish/bend first.

I started using a really small 13 L pack with the bladder for my "go walkabout" kit. Stuff gets jammed in pretty tight.

BTW: I started a blog about my adventures trying to get my aging behind back into the woods more often. Gear, tips, some photos, some rambling...

If you are expecting anything remotely related to french toast, steer clear. I've had one before, and it's incredibly dense, more so than a wheat snack bread, and absolutely soaked/saturated with sweet filling, but minus any moisture. You will need to consume lots of liquid to get one down.

I had a "Filled French Toast" packed 2010 that came out of a First Strike Ration" at beginning of October 2014. Here some photos:













I liked it , very, very sweet, the filling makes it a little bit moist, but it is hard to describe the taste .

Just had the maple muffin top from a 2014 menu 17 (maple flav. sausage). It was my favorite part of the meal! Sweet, moist, delicious!

Agreed on the maple muffin top. It's sweet and easily one of the best tasting MRE items I've found.

The maple muffin top, cornbread, toaster pastry, and other foods that would ordinarily be crumbly survive the transport process by way of their composition. They're dense and moist, so they stay together without creating crumbs. They tend to squish and bend more than they break apart.
