Hello Guys :
We came up with an interesting solution to please all Halal consumers that worked very good and successfully .
Working with the manufacturing plant specialist after a Halal Certification order request ,we came up with an interesting solution
We created The "Halal Type" Eversafe MRE by guaranteeing and certifying by the manufacturing facility under the most stringent quality control practices that " no meal that will be produced for this type of contract will contain any pork or pork by products either as meal ingredients or in the preparation of said meals "
This worked very well with one of our customers and we are thinking that is a good cost effective alternative for this type of consumers.
We would love to hear from you all, MRE enthusiast and professionals what is you opinion about it ??
Thanks !!
Eversafe MRES

My religion allows me to eat any kind of food, so I can“t help you with this.

Is there anyone on here that requires Halal food? I know I've eaten Halal rations as a novelty a few times, but I've never met anyone that lives by Halal requirements. Even all the Muslim folks I've met don't follow a Halal diet (granted they are in the states and I'm meeting them at bars so they're definitely not strict practitioners).
I suppose if you're getting tons of orders for them it makes sense to cater to your customers. I'd just assume they're either more expensive, more limited in choice, or both and would avoid them. Pork's damn tasty

Having the ability to produce Halal rations can open to door for your company to a future Govt. contract. I would imagine there is going to be a need for Halal rations by our Military for the foreseeable future.

Doesn't Wornick already produce military MRE's?

If I remember right the contract for Halal rations, at least the ones going to US troops, is from J&M foods. Not sure if Wornick has produced Halal a product directly for Military use. The Halal rations are actually really good by the way!

Do you want to taste a Halal ration? Try to get your hands on a HDR.
They are Halal/kosher and have no meat or pork products. Everything is beans ,lentils, rice and more beans.....

From what I understand Halal isn't like Kosher in that there is no pork and no meat or dairy must be prepared in the same container etc. Although it may share those rules, an Islamic prayer must be said during the slaughtering of the animal, and a tax must be paid to some Islamic association or religious figure for certification.
