Hi guys,

today I want to show the newest "part" of my collection :D , a opened case of EGG MIX, DEHYDRATED, DoP 1991.

The already opened case "EGG MIX, DEHYDRATED" packed by FISHER FOODS LTD. in good condition :D

Cardboard made by NEBRASKA PACKAGING, INC. January 1991
Image

Printing on the case, no DoP is stated :o
Image

Interesting: UNITIZED "B" RATIONS DESERT SHIELD :o , I guess such a "mission" printing is something particular on a ration case, never seen that before
Image

Also interesting printing on the side of the box: Delivery information :!: :?:. What means "JF1" and "SWE 300" in that context?
Image

The empty case
Image

The case with two original cans in perfect condition :D

Close-up of the EGG MIX DEHYDRATED cans
Image

Close-up with instructions for preparing the contents
Image

Date code :?: , can not "translate" that :?

Great pics! Very interesting that they placed Operation Desert Shield on the package. Now you just have to open one can and give it a try.

I have eaten the UGR version of that egg mix before, it comes in the plastic bag, and 9 times out of 10 when the cooks make it they add too much water... so you end up with a sort of egg soup at the bottom of the mermite container.

True. When using powdered eggs you have to be careful of the ammount of water used. some cooks usse some regular eggs if the have them to enhance the flavor a bit.

The numbers stamped on the can definitely aren't a date. They're identifying the plant and inspector. Plant 1513 and inspector 21 as it says on the outside of the box  Unless there's a 513th day of the year I'm not aware of!
