Hi, first thing I must say is you have a great site, very informative and helpful for me buying my first crate of MREs (Case A 2003). Having tried a few pieces from a couple of Menus I was surprised by how good some stuff was (Snack bread and PB were excellent!) had a few questionable bits, but anyway on to the question, I have a pouch marked 3167112 (Date code right?) and B1 on the next line, can't any reference to it on the menu page (this came from beef and mushroom steak I believe) Any ideas what it is? Feels quite solid, about twice size of spread packets. Thanks for any answers and all the best to you guys.

I think you're right about the "3167112" part being a date code.

Did you open up the mystery pouch yet? From your description and a look at the menu:

it sounds like it might be the "Beef Snack" - which is just a giant piece of beef jerky.
