It looks like a fairly "new" (197x) can but I can't make sense of the numbers on top of it.

Somehow I'd be leery of fruit that' s too far past its pack date. I bought some cans of fruit in the pop-tops. They were only good for six months. They came from Big Lots. The cans I get from Wal-Mart are good for a year. There is the possibility that they're lying to us to get us to keep purchasing more cans. So... why do I get TWO years out of a can of chili? Or maybe three from beef stew?

"Maybe" friuts out of a can are not "cooked" in the can (sterelized) like chili and beef stew. If you sterelize them this long, you will get "friut sauce" that will be good for two or three years too. Next is, beef does not contain this much acid than fruits that will/may react with the surface of the can.

I've seen a lot of old MCIs for sale where the fruit can has ruptured and leaked onto the other items in the box.

That one looks bulged in the photo.

No problem

Sure it was packed in 2007? Not in 2004?!
What´s the 4-digit-code on it?!
What´s the inspection date?

If the inspection date is 2007, it means packed in 2004. So everything is allright.

If the pack date is 2007 (inspec. date 2010) for sure and the items are made in 2004, somebody repacked the case with "old" stuff and ripped you off to me.

Ooops! my bad.
you're right, It was packed in 2004 and Inspection date was 2007
4 digit code is : 4092
packed date was under the customs tape, so I didn't see it :(

The TTI (indicator) is all dark and inner circle is all black, so I think its safe to eat it ?
I tried 7 years old British Ration Pack and it tasted good )))
