I Use A Combination Of Mre ,Freeze Dried And Store Items.
I Tarp Camp In California Mtns In Non Campground Areas.
I Never Haul Ice But Eat Just Fine.

Welcome to the forums!

That is a negative for me and the camping. My idea of camping is to camp out in front of my TV eating an MRE entree that has been delicately heated up in my microwave, ice put into my bev base powder and plenty of paper towels to keep my pretty face all nice and clean!

Why camp when you don't have to is my motto!

Hey MreKampr

My wife and I do quite a bit of backpacking. Mostly in the NY Adirondacks - no cars, no "campers" - sorry Dirty Dave. I take MREs and store bought food (sometimes freeze-dried, but freeze-dried is too expensive). MREs are great for shorter hiking trips. Anything beyond 2 nights or so requires more food planning. I'd probably add some freeze-dried. Look here: www.adk.org/
