First Strike Ration update

Looks like the First Strike Ration has been updated from 3 menus to 9.

It has apparently been approved by the US Surgeon General and is now available for pocurement.

Thank you for the update and extended information on the menus!
The menus list looks promising, lots of happy stomachs I guess .

I like the zip lock bags in the ration. Ideal for making a snackpack or for whatever other good use. I´m glad they ´re in the Dutch rats.
A mini first strike bar, is neat too. I probably would have use a regular size but ok.

Thanks for the update, donaldjcheek! That's great news to see that they've expanded the menus from 3 to 9! Time to do some website updating!

Now if only someone can point me to where I can get a case of these.

Exactly Kman. I'd like to get my hands just 1 meal, dammit. After all this time. Nothing. Now that we are "seeming to" going to be exiting stage left from Iraq, I don't want hear the excuse anymore, that they all go there, and Crapganistan. Hell, I live near Ft. Lee, and see soldiers in stores, etc, all the time, ask them. Half of them don't know what I'm talking about. Ft. Lee is the Army cook school, Quatermaster School, not to mention other schools there.

Those are very,very elusive....
My son is in Ft. Irwin and I asked him about those and he told me he haven't seen one.I think is only given to either SPECOPS or people deployed in foward bases...

My question(s) is how much time does Natick Labs need for feedback or evaluating before these get into the mainstream supply system. I say this because these FSR's have been out for some time and yet nobody, I mean NOBODY, has seen these rations. Supposedly the Natick website says they been tested in OIF/OEF and have met favorable results. So if they're ready for procurement why haven't we seen some of these.

I mean really, the 2008 MRE menus didn't take that long to get out to the troops. I've seen a few 2008 MRE's and parts even in my neck of the woods. So let's ask the question of what's going on?

The military is still giving surplus MRE's to the troops at least on the bases and training grounds.He even told me he haven't seen none of the new style bags, yet. I bet they are still getting some NOS MRE's.....lol
So far no FSR's.....
