I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm constantly scanning Ebay for MRE auctions. And every once in a while, I'll run across the most rediculous auctions - like someone putting a case of MREs up for auction for $90 - while there are plenty of buy-it-now's for $45.
I guess it should really be called the "Ebay hall of stupid auctions", but we'll stick with Hall o' Shame for now.
So to start it off, check out this guy's auction:
Case of MREs, Menus 1-12
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5157940628
This is a case of MREs packed in 1998. And he wants $65 for a buy-it-now. At least he's not ripping people off on shipping like a lot of other auctioneers do.

If thats the real case he's selling, it was packed in 1998, on the 273rd day. I'd give him 25 dollars for it, tops.

I'm with DangerousDave on this one - $25 tops - and that'd only be if I could get it for $10 shipping or less. I'd actually like to get one of these cases - I have some 1995, 1996, and maybe 1999 - so I'm missing a couple of years.
The sad thing is that this guy will probably get $35+ for it from someone who doesn't know any better.
Even worse is when someone manages to sell a case from 1992 for $40.

Watch ebay and you will see folks trying to sell Brown bagged MREs for 5 bux a meal. I would rather buy C rats LOL.

I know, it is silly. What they do is take all of the crap out of the MREs that they don't like and create a "survival" kit out of it...SILLY AND RIDICULOUS!
Thank God I found this site before I started buying MREs and thank God for Kman for helping me out with auctions and setting me straight on how to avoid being ripped off by cons over at eBay.

Lots of GI´s from Wiesbaden/K-Town/Grafenwöhr are running a business over here. You´ll get a pack of 12 for 50 Euros + 7 Euros shipping

223 - Welcome aboard!
Good luck buying C-rations on ebay! Those things go for even more than old, brown MREs. I've seen cases go for $200 and individual ones for $15+ - hopefully those are MCIs whose cans haven't already exploded.

You just have to watch out for those MCI explode-a-cans.

As I found out, you can cherish it for a good long while until it explodes in your garage and you don't discover the mess until you walk out there, sniff the air, and say "what the heck is that?".
