The crescent moon is a US military symbol associated with food supply/distribution.

Blue Oyster Cult has a cool song on their HEAVEN FORDID album called Harvest Moon. It seems like it would make more sense to put that kind of moon on a C-Rat or MRE container, but then again, I am no farmer and maybe a crescent moon makes more sense. At any rate, just a way for me to get one of my all time favorite bands into this forum...LOL!

Good 'ole R. Lee Ermey, gosh how I love Mail Call. They need to quit screwing around with all of these other bullshit Seasons 1 and 2 of this and that and get all of the Seasons of Mail Call on DVD. I have the Mail Call Best Of collections, but that is not good enough...as R. Lee would say...DROP AND GIVE ME 20 MAGGOT!deanopilot wrote:I seem to recall R. Lee Ermey covering that subject awhile back. Something about Napoleon's conquests and croissants. The crescent derived from the shape of the croissant and more useful for those who were not literate.

Hey guys,
Here's a spinoff of the cresent moon question. I was reading the forum on the cresent moon last night and saw on Ebay this morning a British 10 ration pack unit being offered for sale. So naturally being interested I kept an eye on it and what did I see on the outside of the box but a three-leafed clover just like the cresent moon on our ration boxes. does anybody know what thismay mean? Is it similar to ours? Be interested to find out?
