Question: Menu evo of MCI & LRRP

Post by Victor_88 » Sat Oct 11, 2008 9:20 pm

Hello im looking for info on the menus of vietnam era MCI and LRRP rats.
i recall reading "chickenhawk" by robert mason and in it he mentions some C-rats which are never referred to again in any other book or novel.
Some other books also made mentions of meals that were discontinued after a time.

Additionally i have also been searching online for exactly WHAT was in the LRP rations. so far i know there's beef hash, chili con carne and spag + meat sauce.

Any heLP? pics would be nice.

Battlemaster365,

Hi, I can give some info though it might not be what your looking for. I have an older LRRP ration. This one I believe to be early 1970's and this is Menu No. 6 (Escalloped potatoes with ham) . I also have other LRRP rations that I have collected through the years though I don't know where they are at right now. Sorry; but I do have pictures of a LRRP ration from the 1980's if you are interested.

I think that this site is interesting:
http://rationworld.web.fc2.com/usa/usa.html

MCI
http://rationworld.web.fc2.com/usa/mci1.html

LRP
http://rationworld.web.fc2.com/usa/lrp.html

This page has little information on LRP at the time of Vietnam, though regrettable.
