okay i am at work they fed us lasagna and stuff for lunch. so i went to my desk and took out a packet of ground red pepper from my extras that i have. it is a very fine powder like cayenne powder. it says two grams on the packet i put it on my lasagna and it is very spicy. now i love spicy food. it just surprised me at how spicy this stuff was. way hotter than if i had used a little bottle of tabasco. has anyone else tried it.

Since it is labeled as "ground red pepper" it probably does have cayenne in it and is probably a blend of various peppers that are pretty spicy. Or they could have chosen that labeling even if it is pure cayenne, in the event that they might substitute a blend at some other point in production.

Cayenne and Tabasco are more or less the same heat range, 30,000 - 50,000 scoville units.
I like Jalapenos, which are only 5,000 - 15,000...

I came across a small amount of those red pepper packets.
What I did was add it to spaghetti sauce. I too discovered the intense taste.
I will use it again but use a smaller amount. It is good but spicy.

Probably... I can imagine a bunch of Japanese kids trying it, the same way kids at my school tried to get wasted on nutmeg or banana peel.
