Case of MCIs on eBay

For anyone interested in a case of MCIs from 1978, I just saw this case up on eBay:

You are bidding on an unopened case of C-Rations, sealed food meals. Dimensions approximately 19x13x6 inches.

The case contains 12 meals. Nothing is known about the contents, as it has never been opened (two metal wires bind the case together).

On the side of the case it says:
Lot no. 84, Date packed: 11/78, Inspection/test date: 11/80.

This case was packed by the Southern Packaging & storage co., Mullins, S.C. 29574

Since acquisition in the early 80's, the case has been kept in a cool, dry basement closet.
The price is currently at a scary $6.66 but with the case looking to be in good condition and with just under 7 days to go in the auction, I'm guessing these will go for a lot more.

It's not my auction and I'm not bidding so good luck to anyone who might try for them!

Great item, but surely one or more of the fruit cans must have burst by now?

I wonder if there are any stains visible on the case.
