Due to scarcity of pork based products in Iraq J&D as provided soldiers an alternative: Bacon Salt.

I've heard of this, but have yet to see it locally. Proving once again, that there's nothing Bacon can't improve. :lol:

Remember Iraq is an islamic country and pork,pork products and by-products are prohibited by the Shariah or Islamic law. Their products have to be "Halal" which is similar to the jewish kosher rules... Simple, they don't eat pork :roll: :shock: :shock: !!!!

Something called Bacon Bits is probably more common which is big as a condiment for salads.

Bacon salt is, according to the website kosher certified. Interesting as well, they have an Operation bacon salt goin on, where they send it to the troops over in Iraq and A'stan.

HAHAHA, that's really tricky: a kosher product that gives a pork flavour to any hallal meal, I can't believe that :lol:

Folks in the desert would be alot less uptight if they were to embrace bacon. We're just sharin the love :lol:

Pork & bacon kosher???? :shock: :shock: ha ha ha ha ha!!!... the only thing I know is that some elements of the kosher meals don't go with the islamic halal..... and viceversa..... :roll:

but kosher pork salt :shock: ....lol is funny!!!!! :lol:
Anyway kosher or not I love my pork..... :D bacon,ribs,chops,ham,sausages...etc in anyway,shape or form....yummmm
Some people say is not good for the body, but.... is good for the SOUL!!! :wink:

Bacon Salt - I love it! Second to my motto of "Everything tastes good when you're hungry" is "Everything tastes good wrapped in bacon"!

Talking about bacon....did any body here see the East Coast food network cable show that had a Southern restaurant that served deep fried bacon as a main meal??? :shock: 8)
