Due to scarcity of pork based products in Iraq J&D as provided soldiers an alternative: Bacon Salt.

Reports from the front state that this goes good with MRE's

I've heard of this, but have yet to see it locally. Proving once again, that there's nothing Bacon can't improve.

Remember Iraq is an islamic country and pork, pork products and by-products are prohibited by the Shariah or Islamic law. Their products have to be "Halal" which is similar to the jewish kosher rules... Simple, they don't eat pork    !!!!

Something called Bacon Bits is probably more common which is big as a condiment for salads.

HAHAHA, that's really tricky: a kosher product that gives a pork flavour to any hallal meal, I can't believe that

Bacon Salt - I love it! Second to my motto of "Everything tastes good when you're hungry" is "Everything tastes good wrapped in bacon"!
