So we have no doubt seen the cheeseburger in a can, but here is something for those folks who burn water while trying to boil an egg: packaged, peeled and boiled eggs!
Here is a link with some erudite commentary:

I saw those at Food Dog, near the cheese and butter. I axed the hoe, working the aisle about them. Her reply was "What will they think of next?". However, I do have one of those Gallon jars of Penrose pickled eggs in my frig.

I asked the expert about this...Mrs. Kman. She's on the fence...it looks interesting but how useful is it really? She already boils up half a dozen eggs every week or so for salads or general eating and it's not really that difficult to do. I think the kicker will be the "Cage Free" part...that sounds to me like they're trying to justify how expensive these puppies are.

Given the recent increases in the prices of eggs, $5/dozen eggs may not be that far off, maybe not as close as $4/gallon gas (which is already here,) but at about $5/dozen for precooked eggs, I could see where it could find a niche market someplace.
I've seen eggs around here selling from $2-3.50 a dozen (Extra Large AA) depending upon where you get them.

Yea, but are you talking about white eggs or brown eggs? My GrandMother from WV swore on brown eggs. I could never taste the difference. I always yelled "Scrambled" in the mess hall line.

Plain ol' white commercially grown eggs that you find in the supermarket. I don't know what the free range or brown eggs may be going for. Besides, once you take the shell off, they look the same. The $2/doz price was for eggs from Costco in 24 count containers.

If you think these are weird, you should see the prepackaged things my brother brings back from China. Chicken feet, 1000 year old eggs.. the chicken feet were actually pretty tasty tho.

Very convenient if you really like boiled eggs and want to grab some on the way to a picnic or something. But you're right, BondiBoy66 & Kman - is this a sad reflection of a decline in basic cooking skills?
Anyone here ever eaten
balut (fertilised egg with the embryo inside)?

You know, as I sit here eating lunch, something told me not to click on that link...but click I did.
Man...I could have gone the rest of the day without seeing that. :-)

Sorry! Maybe I should have added a 'gross pictures' warning, but having seen some of the ration photos on here I figured it would be superfluous....
