MealKitSupply vs. Menu C

Hi all, I'm new to the forums and a big lover of all things with a shelf life almost as old as I am (well, not quite as old as me, but I do like MRE's :D ). I'm currently in Canada and am interested in some emergency/camping/scenario paintball rats. I have had IMPs from my time as a reservist but have never had a true US MRE--I've only had subpar knock offs. I'm about to make an order to MealKitSupply thanks to their recent 25$ off offer, but I was wondering if I should also try to ship in some Menu Cs as well? If the MREs from MealKitSupply are similar to the Menu Cs (which I believe they are), I'd rather not mess around with customs, duties, and the like--I can simply depend on MealKitSupply for my immediate needs and save some money. But if the Menu Cs are drastically different from the MKS ones, or if the Menu Cs are just so good I should make the effort to get them in, then I'd love to know in advance before I place my order so I can act accordingly. Any advice?

(and I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered. I did a quick forum search and found some similar topics, but no exact answer. If this has already been answered, a thread link will be a great help :) ).

When comparing the Menu Cs to the Meal Kit Supply MREs, you could probably reference this page:

http://www.mreinfo.com/civilian/mre/civ ... rison.html

and substitute the words "Sopakco Sure-Pak 12" for "Meal Kit Supply MREs". While they're not 100% exactly the same, Meal Kit Supply does get their MREs from Sopakco and with the exception of some of the meal selections, they're close enough.

The other place where the Sopakco and MKS MREs will differ is in the pricing. While you can find Sure-Pak 12s for US$70 or so in the US, MKS MREs have a different price in Canada. You'll have to check for yourself to see if it'd be cheaper to buy, import, and pay duty on Menu Cs vs. just buying the MKS MREs locally.

As for the contents of one vs. another, I'm pretty sure the Menu Cs will have more food in them...but probably only by a snack item or two.

I'd recommend comparing the menus, comparing the prices, and then pick the one that works best for you. I'd be interested in hearing what you decide on.
