Are they packed in regular paper bags? What would be the shelf life? Similar to MRE's?

That item has been replaced with Split Top Loaf Bread and DSCP has that listed as having a 2 year shelf-life. I guess in eBay terms that is probably interpreted as being around 10 years.

I have the wheat (not white) bread.

They came in an ordenary card board box:




This boxes contained:

four paper bags

Each bag:

12 single packed breads, same as the MREs wheat snack bread


Early brown MRE bread snack

Anyone knows the exact difference between wheat and white bread?! Or is it just the name?!

here some more „bread“ pictures! I have two cases of it in my basement:

Case 1 total, it is still closed


Case 1 side label, there are 96 single bread pouches in the case, date packed 3232 (2003), inspection test date August 2006

Case 2 total, it is already open, half of the bread is missing


Case 1 side label, there are 96 single bread pouches in the case, date packed 6011 (1996), inspection test date December 1997, I tried one 2007, it was still ok

The taste was not better or worse than a “fresh” one. Just a little bit strange !

Thanks - great pics! I always thought those "Fresh Pax" were kind of chewy and tough to get down. :-)
