I opened a 2007 menu today. When i opened it i was surprised to see such a small beverage pouch in there compared to the older ones. Never would've guessed that such a small amount of powder can make such a large amount of water taste exactly the same as the old beverage base which had sugar in it.

Does anybody know when these smaller pouches were introduced and what kind of stuff that powder is made off?

Is that one of the sugar-free drink mixes? If so, those are smaller because they don't need all the extra volume that sugar takes up.

Heh, crystal lite and other diet drink mixes make those now. You can get all sorts of flavors in the little packets, they're made for 16.9 or 20oz bottles. When they first came out I bought a box, I think it probably had 20 of them in there and cost around $2, now you get 10 to a box and they cost like $2-3 IIRC, pretty funny, I guess demand was higher than they anticipated. I see everyone with those things.
