One of the items in this pic looks familiar huh?
It came from here:

Google space food images and all kinds of goodies come up. Space food flown or not must be really hard for collectors to come by. I remember playing astronaut as a kid and my Mom making space food wrapped in foil. I'll be making my kids space food out of mre's and a Foodsaver vacuum machine some day.

Numerous clips of Meals in space can be viewed in the film 2001 A Space Odyssey. An image of Keir Dullea who plays Dr. David Bowman can be seen eating one in the movie and is available on Wikipedia. Go here:

Notice the spoon.

That object in the lower west southwest corner looks like an old dehydrated potato patty. If only I had one of those, and the packet of dried ketchup. 8)

Does anyone else remember the "Space Food Sticks" that you could buy at your local market during the APOLLO years? They were sort of like a chewy candy and were actually pretty tasty. They came individually wrapped in a yellow paper & foil wrapper, and were packaged 10 or 12 (I can't remember) per box. I forget who actually made them, but they were real popular with us kids back then (if you had one in your lunch box, you were cooooool, man!). I can't remember any other flavor but chocolate being available. Anyone??

Even more shocking that there's a Spoonman pic as shown above or even a Spoonman video as seen in another thread.......is the fact there is, indeed, a "Space Food Sticks Preservation Society":
