kman, do you have a picture of this "closure device" that is listed in the accessory packet breakdown on the RCW details page of your site here? I would like to see it. I am asssuming it is used to close up the components that are opened to be used later?

I'll have to dig into my RCW stash and see if I can find one of the "closure devices". IIRC, it's a little plastic/cardboard disc that you slide over the top of the entree after it's filled with water. It doesn't really seal up the entre - it just bunches up the plastic and keeps most of the steam in.

I have a bunch of the newer MCWs but I haven't cracked any open yet so I don't know if they use the same closure device. But I did see one of these recently in a store:

Mountain House Pro-Pak

Mountain House used to be (and might still be) the producer of the freeze-dried entrees for the RCWs/MCWs. The "Pro-Pak" version is vacuum sealed like the MCW entrees and uses a ziplock-type of seal for closure.

:D You can use this little rubber device called a "band". Imagine that. I bet Uncle pays $4.75 a peice for those little plastic thingies.
