Are they really 16-24 servings or are they half that if everyone is hungry?
(2 tenders sounds okay, but I have no concept of size)

Are they easy to heat?

Are they any good? I'm interested in the buffalo chicken or if it's bad I'm open to suggestions..

I just looked on longlifefood.com, and they just updated the t-rat page today apparently.. and OMG, that's a lot to pick through..

Heh, I already ordered anyway, got pulled pork and sausage gravy.. can't believe I've been going to order the buffalo chicken for so long and borked it at the last second. If they're any good I'll get one of those too.

Think of how much food you can stuff into a 12x10 inch tray that is 2" deep. The portions are less than desired for most people, certainly not what you would get in a restaurant. Think more in terms of TV Dinner portions.

Restaurants serve far more food than people should be eating. The government portions are probably spot-on when it comes to what is a nutritionally correct serving.

The problem is that in a country where 65% of the people are overweight and/or obese, the concept of a "serving" is more often determined by what one CAN eat rather than what one SHOULD eat.

Look at the MRE "beef patty," it's only 2.8oz compared to the 4oz of a Whopper or Big Mac. I would think that hungry Americans would get only 8 - 12 rather than 16 - 24.

They are designed for 18 servings and we eat some of them at work. It was enough for all allways...

Yes - but don´t heat them up in an open fire as some ebay seller recommend.

Depends what you like. I have 70 T-18 in stock...

i heat it up in boiling water (of course you need a big thing where you put it in to boil) for about 45 minutes. well - if you are very hungry: better eat 2 mre they dont need that much time.

some trays are for 9 people and some (mostly) for 18 people.

Hey BigMark, I've had the "Buffalo Chicken" and I thought it was pretty darn good (I made up a package of rice pilaf to go with it). I'm single and a big eater, and I would say I had about half of the chicken left over for a second meal. For a variation during eating the leftovers I tried toasting a burger bun and slapped two of the chicken pieces between the bread along with some extra sauce and it made for a tasty sammwich! (oh I know, it's really a sandwich).

Let us know how the Pulled Pork tastes!
