Opened up a can of 1944 Faust Instant Coffee... Pics and Review Inside...

Have four of these now and decided to open one. Nice color, perfectly preserved, no clumping and smelled like older (not in a bad way) coffee. Inside of the can (too much glare in pics I took) it was shiny and spotless. First sip tastes a tad bitter but then it goes away as you drink the rest. I will be drinking this everyday until it's gone. I refuse to waste one drop. As you can see I vacuum sealed it and will open it to take what's needed for a cup and keep resealing it. Have a long ways to go because the can instructions say to mix with five gallons of water so that's essentially 80 cups of coffee. So I have 78 more cups to go right now - lol. Very special indeed.

Awesome. I was planning to do the same thing with one of mine. Looks to be in fantastic shape. Thanks for sharing.

That’s pretty cool it being almost 80 years old.

1944 Faust Instant Coffee

Does it retain any caffeine zip?

It might not taste the greatest, but I expect it would done the job back in the day as far as maintaining alertness.

Finally opened up a can of mine today to try out. Probably the worst coffee I have ever drank!
It looked to be in good shape and smelt pretty nice, but man was it ever bitter. I tried a tiny dab on my finger at first which was awful - figuring it'll be ok once mixed, I put a relatively small amount in some boiled water and could only manage about 3 or 4 mouthfuls! It was the bitter taste I just couldn't get past. I know how this stuff lasted 80 years!
How have you found it since you've been drinking it regularly?
