I got the chance to go to a surplus shop in Fresno, Ca.
I was looking for MRE’s and rations. I lucked out and got the pizza so my niece could try it.
I found this can! I bought this can!
Anyone know what I got?
Any experience with this product or similar?
Thanks!

I wish I had facts to point to... But I have always thought these cans were likely from the 1970's to late 1980's. I think cans from the Vietnam era and before were green in color (including the large #10 B-Ration cans). I once had a #10 can of dehydrated chili with beans that was green in color before, I mixed the contents with boiling water and it tasted perfectly fine.

Now there are still #10 cans that come in the UGR rations but they usually have some kind of paper label on them and are basically commercially packaged type food (corn, beans, etc.)

There was a can of dehydrated green beans I passed on.

The fact that this can makes six gallons is either very impressive or very frightening. I’m gonna break it down into much smaller amounts to hopefully get closer to quart or even pint ratios.

Should be fun.
