Just out of curiosity, I´m not a WW2 rations expert, how did you recognize it is a fake?
The seller wrote:
"This is not a reproduction, I fully guarantee that and will refund if not satisfied."

Wrong wax. See where it’s pooled and is clear/white?
WWII waterproofing wax was amber colored, as you can see where it’s pooled here.
