Pizza Slice 2021

Why do I get the suspicion it will be little more than "Wheat Snack Bread" with ersatz cheese smeared over it?

I will say that supermarket frozen pizza has gotten to the point it is almost edible, at only a fraction of the delivery pie price. They can keep cookies crisp in the packages, why not pizza crust? I wish they could somehow leverage the "good enough" angle of frozen pizza into something edible out of our beloved MRE.

Clearly, the answer is Irradiated food preservation. If I'm not mistaken, they can nuke raw or cooked food using this process and then package it up without need for refrigeration. The technology has been around for decades, most of the resistance is because of consumer mistrust.
