Acquired a few complete FPA’s!

Post by Fallout420 » Sun Jan 02, 2022 8:17 pm

Got a mail call today, and finally got ahold of something I’ve been waiting for a long time. 4 Food Packet, Assault’s menus 1, 2, 4, and 5, as well as a 5th meal out of the box and a bunch of extra fuel tablets. All four of the boxes menus are complete! Interestingly, each menu has a fuel tablet packet inside, something I guess they removed in the MCI’s.

So excited to add these to my collection!

That's really awesome! Were these the ones being sold as a lot on E-bay a few months ago? Would love to se photos of the M units and their markings.

Yep these were from that lot! Just now getting them as I was overseas and I had them sent to my parents (so my wife wouldn’t kill me). Was so stoked to finally check them out!

Interestingly, these are slightly different from the ones in Steve’s video. They’re earlier (all 1952) and some differences include fuel tablets being in each meal, the spoon being outside the accessory packet, and all of the accessory packets lack a list of contents. Cool to see a different version of them!

Let us know if you're going to sell anything you might not want or have already. Congratulations on the find.

Man, you and I were in a bidding war with eachother lol. I was the other guy gunning for these. I have a complete 1952 production meal #3 and wanted those others to complete my 1952 production ration collection which included an RCI (ive got most produced from 45-59 now). Well, if you ever sell these let me know because the ChowLine collection would love them.

Aww man haha sorry about that! I saw that lot and figured that would probably be the only time seeing that many in one group aside from a case (which I’ve never seen) and was bidding hard! I don’t know if I’d ever sell all of them, but maybe we can work out a trade for one or two 😉

I think a trade would be a fine idea, certainly something we could discuss and I think I may have some things you might be interested in. I am at the moment however quite interested in good photos of the markings on the meat cans if you would be able to post those. Since I make many reproductions for museums, having those markings would help fill a gap in my own archives of the markings these cans bare.

Absolutely man, that’s a cool thing you do! Here’s some pictures for ya, I tried to get the best possible pic that had the whole meat unit and which menu it came from. The Beef and Pork Loaf came loose so I’m not sure which menu it’s from.

The bones chicken is completely sealed, not a hint of leakage or rust on it, but it’s ready to BURST lol. Almost interested to see what it looks like having still been sealed completely.

These are great photos, I appreciate them. Any of those accessory packets open? I am very interested in the various confections packed in them. I have managed to nab a few on the loose here and there, but have not been able to find good photos of each type used.

Also, here is my facebook page called ChowLine Reproductions ( Link: https://www.facebook.com/TheChowLine ) where I post my projects. I am also including a few photos of my 1952 FPIA Meal #3 which was actually sent to me by Steve. I made a repro of it as well as a clear version to display the contents in. Interestingly enough I also have a version of the box printed on white bleached fiberboard as opposed to unbleached fiberboard.
