I don't understand what that wording on the "ACHTUNG" picture means. It says, "Water Treatment Tablets - Do not take in ! Emergency means!"

Do not take in an emergency? Do not use at all? Or is it just a "do not eat" warning?

Yeah i think it means 'dont eat'. Achtung means 'Attention'
It also says in German, "Only use when it is not possible to boil the water".
So only use the purification tablets in an emergency.

Dear katojapan,

I´m sorry to say this, but this ration:

Isn´t a genuine German ration,

This ration is a fake!

Made by some "smart" seller that offered this rations at ebay Germany.

The NSN is not a real number, it´s a fantasy number.

German rations NEVER have a best before date on it, just the year of manufacturing! :!:

Someone put several "left overs" from MREs and EPas in a plastic bag, made a label at his printer at home and offered them as "Genuine, new, KSK etc ration" on ebay.

If they were sold to you as "Genuine German XY ration", they ripped you off...

Most problem of the austrian ration is, that nobody can confirm, if this is an real army ration.

one seller on ebay germany, who selled this, offered also other unserious rations.

This looks like a german entree

Check our German Military Vehikle Forum about this rations:

http://www.landroverforum.de/board/thre ... r=0&page=1

because this entrees are avialable in every German Supermarket. (approx. €1,30)

The civilan manufacturer are Buss and Herta, both are producing for the Bundeswehr and for the civilian market also.

http://www.buss.de/buss/produkte/freizeitmacher.html

The civilian entree looks like this:

or this

If you remove the printed card bord cover, you will see an entree like this:

with a printing on top:

with a best before date on it. This is a civilian one! Bundeswehr (military) never will have a best before date, just the year of production.

The genuine Bundeswehr EPa entrees looks like this:

Herta made

Just the outer shape of civilain and Bundeswehr is equal, the inner layers and the meals are different! Also the Bundeswehr entrees are more solid

Make sure you got genuine EPa (Bundeswehr) entrees and not the 1,30-supermarket entrees...
Very popular on ebay Germany to sale this as Bundeswehr EPa entrees

But, australian and french commando ration are real.

Housil, just curious - besides the packaging, is the food different between the military EPa entrees and the civilian ones? For example, is the military "Cevapcici" different from the civilian "Civapcici"??

EDIT: Ups  , i see, you bougth the tp 61 as a german KSK, i made a mistake, i thougth you bougth it as an austrian ration...otherwise the guy who selled the ksk rations on ebay also selled the austrian rations..
