Is it safe?
Greetings, back in January I ate a Pork with rice MRE from 1997, when I tasted the entree my mouth started getting almost a dry sensation and started feeling numb and so after talking to a family member about it I was told that it was just the spices in the bbq sauce that caused it but I've still got to wonder if it would have been okay to eat the entree or if it was food poisoning, I had no other effects after it but just wanted to see.

Most likely experiencing rancidity indicating the entree is spoiled and not safe for consumption. Absolutely do not keep eating things with warning signs like this.

Re: Is it safe?
I doubt that was food poisoning
most wanted: RCIR, MCI/B units, IMPs, anything old, and a packet or two of RAFCO soup. PM if you've got these, or anything else to sell that isn't too expensive.
