SI Equipment might have been an early name of what is now Major Surplus and Survival which has for been in buisness in the Carson/ Gardena area for years. They do mail order and operated out of a variety of open to the public warehouses in the area. The have sold MRE components by the case or in singles for many years.

When I googled "SI Equipment Ltd. surplus" Major Surplus and Survival come up so its probably them.
I think your probably right, I found another reference to them listed as;

"Survival, Inc. (17019 Kingsview, Carson, CA 90746)"

I'll beat Steve for some of these. Grew up on these at Benning and Riley. The yumminess of the pork and beef patt-tay, with that little packet of powdered ketchup. I'll give ya $50 for a set of pattys and strawberry and peach blocks. :D
After the Chicken and the Egg, came the "Omelet"!

Yes, the beef and pork pattie's had internal plastic baggie, suppossed to use that to soak the patty in water to re-hydrate. Took longer than expected, usually 10-15 minute's, but who cared, chomp in 5 minutes.

DangerousDave,

I received a Private Message from you with a different subject than this thread. I tried to respond to that but got a message that (perhaps) your ability to receive Private Messages is turned off.

Best regards,

Scott

Returned home last evening from visiting family in southwestern Indiana.

I'll continue the inventory of this purchase by going through the Military & suspected Military Canned Items.

Two #10 Cans of Dehydrated Pork Chops. I believe these are Freeze Dried but I'd be very interested as to what folks here think. Date Code is 16100 over a 9 on both cans.
Don't know if these are Military or just a product for the government.

The lady running the Estate Sale pointed to one of the cans of Pork Chops and said, "There's $25 worth of fun right there!"

HA!

2021 04 25 - 11.jpg
Two B-3A Units - Crackers Candy. One with a Date Code (3 71) and the other doesn't seem to have a Date Code.

The following items are associated with canned goods and were found in various boxes.

Three P-38 Can Openers.

Three boxes; Two of these were used to hold some of the cans the other is unused,

I'd be curious if folks can pin down the dates on some of the Date Codes on these canned goods (that aren't obvious to me),

Hey Scott, I would absolutely love to be able to put that tin of 58 dated Coffee Instant Type II into the ChowLine archives if your interested in selling it. As for many of those 3.5" tall B units you have there, I'll bet my bottom dollar those are all 1957 manufacture as they match many examples in my collection that I know for sure came from 57 dated RCI cases.

Also, what a great haul you have there, fantastic luck in getting all those ration bits!

ChowLine,

I'm fairly sure I will be parting with the C-Rations at some point.

At the moment I'm still inventorying what's in all the boxes. Unlike the folks that are reading this, I have little to no knowledge of this stuff.

However, I know enough about other "interesting things" (mostly machinist tool related or vintage tractors) to have seen parts of "things-that-go-together" scattered over some distance. So I'd like to open up the boxes, present the findings here, and see if any of you connoisseurs indicate that "that item goes with that thing you showed 2-days ago".

Best regards,

Scott

Today I went through a box that had mostly Accessory Packets in it...

There are multiples of some of these and singles of others.

These are hard to photograph due to the clear outer layer of the packaging reflecting light.
