2021/2022 MRES - MRE42

The US Defence Logistics Agency just released their Assembly Contract Requirements for MRE42 early (The last three years they released them in August). I believe this will be 2022's

Of note:
Menu 11 - "Vegetable Crumbles in Pasta" will be "Pizza Slice, Cheese"
Menu 14 - "Creamy Spinach Fettuccine" will be "Mexican Style Rice and Bean Bowl"
I think we can all agree that the Spinach Fettuccine will be much missed.
Menu #12 and 22 lists a "Bread, Mini-loaf, sliced, whole wheat" Can we dare to hope??

Icing, Applesauce style items, BBQ "protein puffs" and strawberry and Blackberry Preserves look interesting- can't find the icing in a menu though

Dammit, I was gonna do a review of all the different types of mre pizza, but i saw the cheese pizza come on the civvie market and wasnt sure if it counted, guess it does now, eh?
Looks like we got new components too:
Fruit Puree Squeeze:
Apple, strawberry, carrot
Banana/pumpkin
Wet Pack Fruits:
Apple Pieces in spiced sause
Applesauce w/ raspberry puree
applesause carbohydrate enchanced
applesauce w/ mango and peach puree
Tortillas whole grain
Recovery bar salted caramel marshmallow crisp
Chocolate protein drink hazelnut
tropical blend smoothie
looks like we got tartar sauce in the mix too

Banna pumpkin pruee, sounds pretty trash to me and I doubt the tartar sauce will hold up to time.

Apple pieces in spiced sauce is like eating the filling of an apple pie. Very tasty. Had one the other day at work.

that new recovery bar is going to be hit or miss for sure, but the new wet pack fruits sound awesome. Never had anything like banana/pumpkin, but I don't have high hopes for that smoothie
