Hello,

could someone tell me how to determine the date on a fsr?
The individual package has a date of 9234

Thanks!

They introduced those narrow bags (rather portrait vs older landscape orientated labels) for 2019 so it’s fresh
All the best, Gents.

Didn't know that. Do older ones NOT have a camouflage pattern at all, or is it just different? When was that change made? I have 2017 and 2019 production FSRs and hadn't noticed a difference. Will need to do a side-by-side.

The camouflage patterns on the FSR bags were referred to as follows;

1st Generation: Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), also referred to as ACU by soldiers.
2nd Generation: Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP), also referred to as MultiCam by soldiers.

The prototype of the FSR ration was in a clear plastic wrapper with no camouflage. I am fairly sure there is more than one prototype variant of this ration.

In case you are curious, the reason for the pattern change on the FSR was the transition of the uniform worn by soldiers from ACU to MultiCam.
