Yesterday we opened a 2012 (2339) jalapeno cheese

First I noted the too dark color

It failed the taste test Image and obviously got spoiled.

As this is the very first time, I got a "bad" cheese, how are your experiences? Can this happens to the jalapeno cheese only?

Oooh yeah, yeah bad cheese spread is a wonder the behold. I have only had it happen on the old or poorly stored. What were the other components like?

I wonder if it was a pinhole? Good question Smitty, how are the rest of the components holding up?

Sry, no other components. These cheese came out of my "Cheese" box. All my rations are stored in an AC room at constant temp.

This cheese came also out of that cheese box:

That was a same age plain cheese and it was OK.

So it seems these jalapeno and bacon cheese have a shorter shelf life than plain cheese?

Cheese box!? Hahaha I love it.

I have a pile of JCS that CT sent me. Some are that old and are in great shape so I would think it must be a function of its “previous life” before you put it in the cheese box.
