1966 MCI C-Rations from Facebook Marketplace!

Post by Xan_Man85 » Thu Feb 13, 2020 10:02 pm

Greetings all,

I got on Facebook Marketplace the other day and was surprised to see this case of C-Rations on there! The price was really good too! I drove a couple hours to get it, and was pretty pleased when I got back home. As is normal with these rations, most of them had some damage from leakage, but they were all complete with their accessory packets with cigarettes! The box is dated May of 1966, so it's almost 54 years old. I'm going to keep the best one and take the rest to the Show of Shows in Louisville to see if I sell some. Anyway, I figured you guys would appreciate this one. Thanks for looking!

Well done! That's a score right there.
All the best, Gents.

Very nice find!

I wonder what the MCI acc packet packs w/ smokes will be worth in 10 years? They went up a lot.. miss the days of paying $15-$20 ea. Found 6 for $25 once - 8 of them with like 10 b units for $45 shipped another time. It was titled in the listing: random MRE Frags
I guess he meant fragments, as in.. components? It was great..!

Wow Steve! Those were the good old days! I'll admit that I'm fairly new to old rations and really had no idea what these MCIs and accessory packets were worth until I got them home. I ate MREs in the early 2000s when I was training and kinda liked them. Found some brown bag ones at a flea market in Jacksonville and ate them not knowing how old they were at the time. 4 fingers of death... I'm lucky that a slightly swollen throat was all I got from that one.

Thanks! I've actually found a lot of old rations on FB. Bought several cases of brown bag MREs off FB marketplace a couple months back. It's definitely worth it to check it out from time to time!
