Vintage mre,rcw,lrrp items tread

Post by norge » Fri Jan 03, 2020 10:21 am

After being quiet for a long time in the Mre collecting I wanted to blow life back again like the old time pictures of vintage mre, rcw, lrrp and other items connected to US rations.

Since I have been hours and hours in my collection room I found a box I couldn't remember :D :D So I start with RCW fruit soups.
they are al from the 1989 rcw from rafco.

next up is different LRRP,RCW and MCW main meals

next up is fruit and nut cakes, dating from 1980-1986

Damn! You could be a very rich man with all that fruit soup. I need to think of something to trade :D
On an impossible mission to get every ration ever :D

Looking for Vintage, rare and just plain strange items

made another find in my collection
4 Cadillac first run mres
009.jpg
and some more nut cakes from 1987-1992
018.jpg
next pound cakes and some fudge brownies from 1993-1995, some of the pound cakes in dark brown wrapping was still found in the tan mre bags that started in 1996 and a few other mre items. guess they used up old supplies
015.jpg
Sorry to say cap174 I don't sell any items. I can trade if I have spares.
cheers ken

first up to today is different coffees ranging from the 1960s to today, I know there is suppose to be a few more but couldn't find them..
007.jpg
tea was also added to the mres in the 1990s sorry to say I don't remember what menus or year, so far I only know about 2 types.
011.jpg
next is ice teas and soft drinks that was added in the mres from 1990s and up,the 3 sugar free drinks came in 1994/95 the rest followed when the mres turned tan bags.
010.jpg
and the last for tonight is the hot sauces. the first tabasco bottle came in 1987 (the one on the far left 1987 and following time line of issued in the rations)
sorry I sneaked in a few new items.. :D

The complete lack of oxidation on those Fig Newton's is just astounding. You also have some of the last still (sortof) edible shelf stable bread .. that stuff is always far beyond edible when I come across it.

Do you collect US ration M&M's?
