Help with identifying (and possibly dating) a ration tin

Hello, I recently joined this forum. :)

I've been a regular viewer to several MRE YouTubers for more than a year now. I find military rations incredibly fascinating and enjoy watching them being opened and sometimes taste-tested.

I often check eBay to see whether anybody is selling some, and a few weeks ago I managed to buy a tin of what the seller described as "Vintage Army Tin of Corn - SEALED and Unopened".

The lot code appears to be on the bottom of the tin along with a black stamp of simply "CORN" on the top. I enclose some photos as I am really keen on knowing the country of origin as well as the age.

Thank you for your time. :)

Could it be from an early group ration? Doesn't look like an MCI can.

The stamped name on the can is throwing me off... Not sure if I have seen a US ration stamped like that.

Wow, thank you all for your replies. At least I know it's a US can, that's really cool. :) Yes please Norge, that would be very much appreciated.

I will try and get a pencil rubbing of that lot number, wish it was easier to read. 😅
